Phil Crampton, Expedition Consultant

Phil has been climbing and organizing expeditions in the Nepal Himalaya for close to 30 years. He has participated in 14 Everest expeditions to date, both from the north and south side of the mountain and has a total of over 50 expeditions to 8,000-meter peaks with climbs of Broad Peak, Cho Oyu, Dhaulagiri, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, Lhotse, Makalu, Manaslu and Shishapangma. Elsewhere in the Himalaya, he has led trips to multiple 6,000 and 7,000-meter peaks including Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Kang Guru, Kyajo Ri, Mustagh Ata, Pumori and Ganesh I. On the other continents he has climbed Denali, Aconcagua, Alpamayo, Huascaran, Huantsan and many other smaller peaks across the globe. Phil holds the American avalanche standard AIARE level 2 certification and is a member of the AMGA (American Mountain Guides Association). Phil divides his time between Kathmandu, Nepal and the rock climbing mecca, The Gunks, New York, which he both calls home.
