Lasting from four days to eight days, the cultural and activity tours we operate offer visitors the opportunity to explore Nepal beyond trekking routes and mountaineering. From exploring the Kathmandu Valley’s rich cultural heritage to the excitement of rafting on Nepal’s magnificent rivers and/or seeing animals in the wild, these tours are a wonderful introduction to the rich variety of Nepal, perfect as stand-alone trips for those with limited time in Nepal or as an extension adding variety to a trekking/mountaineering expedition.
On all sight-seeing tours, breakfast is included in the overall cost but the cost of lunch and dinner will need to be met by clients. There will be a one hour lunch break during our city sightseeing tours; evenings are free for you to eat at any restaurant of your choice. There are plenty of restaurants in town serving nepali, oriental and continental dishes. We can make recommendations depending on your preference. A continental lunch or dinner at a good restaurant costs in the region of USD6-10.
All tours include an airport pick-up and drop-off service. Note that we will require your international flight details in order to provide our “meet and greet” service at the airport. A representative of our office will be waiting for you when you exit the airport and will escort you to your hotel where you will be briefed in detail about your further activities.
We have a team of highly experienced and professionally-trained guides, thoroughly versed in the culture and history of each place you will visit. Tour guides usually operate in Nepal’s major towns/cities only and are employed locally through our regional offices in all the major cities of tourist interest. Multilingual guides are available outside Kathmandu Valley but this will incur an extra cost. Wildlife safari excursions are conducted generally by an English speaking guide. If English is not your preferred language, we can arrange a guide or an interpreter who speaks your language to accompany you throughout your trip but this will incur an extra cost.
We operate tours for private groups of any size. Each trip is accompanied by a tour guide and driver(s).
The cost of each trip depends on various factors, such as: type of accommodation; type of vehicles eg. with/without air-conditioning; group size etc. We offer three cost options to out clients: a standard package (based on 3 star hotels); a superior package (a combination of 3 and 4 star hotels); and a deluxe package (5 star hotels with air-conditioned vehicles). If you have initially booked the standard or superior package with us, it is possible to upgrade your accommodation once in Kathmandu and have an air-conditioned car for use, although this will incur an additional charge. We can customise any tour to suit your interests and budget.
We have a fleet of predominantly Toyota vehicles of varying types and sizes, from small two-seater luxury cars to large-capacity, luxury tourist-coaches. 4WD Landcruisers are used for difficult and muddy road trips. The size of the group will dictate the size of vehicle. We use two-seater cars for 1-2 people, a luxury six-seater micro-van for groups of 3 to 5 people, a 10-seater van for groups of 6 to 9 people and a tourist coach or coaster for groups larger than 10 people. Our drivers are specifically trained to serve in the hospitality industry. The vehicles are checked carefully before being assigned to your service.
City tours last either six hours (full-day tour) or three hours (half-day tours). You will be briefed about tips and other relevant information before embarking on any of our trips. Tours usually start after breakfast (9 am). A half-day tour will finish at 1pm and a full-day tour at 3pm. Late afternoons and evenings are free and you can explore the town further on your own and at your own pace.
Tips are appreciated by your support team after the trip. The amount depends on your budget and appreciation of their work.
In the case of tipping in restaurants, tipping is usually 10% of the bill.
All entrance fees to sites noted in the tour package are included in our cost.
