Kailash Manasarobar Tour via Nyalam-14 Days

At Manasarobar lake

Unknown to the world and detached for centuries behind the nearly impassable Himalayas, Mt. Kailash at 6714m still remains a mysterious and a mythical mountain.

Kailash has been a major pilgrimage site for some of the world’s foremost religions.  Kailash is sacred to Hindus because Lord Shiva & his consort Goddess Parvati live here and Buddhists worship the mountain as Kang Rinpoche. For Bonpos (followers of the Bon religion) it is Tungdrung Gutse or the nine storied swastika mountain and for Jains it is the sacred peak of Asthapda.

A 53km parikrama or kora (circumambulation) of the mountain is said to erase the sins of a lifetime.

The serene and beautiful Lake Mansarover lies just 30km away from Mt Kailash. A visit to this sacred lake completes our Kailash journey.

We begin our overland journey, driving from Kathmandu to Nyalam in Tibet. We then drive across the wide and arid Tibetan Plateau to Lake Manasarovar, before completing a kora around Mt Kailash. We re-cross the vast arid highland before heading south to the Nepalese border and returning to Kathmandu. This is truly an unforgettable trip with stunning and diverse scenery and cultural highlights.
