Great Experience, Challenging but with a lot of fun

(5/5)

We knew that we wanted a tailor made trekking experience that would be within our physical capabilities. Expedition Himalaya did just this and more. Hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara, air fares from Kathmandu to Pokhara, tourist taxes in Annapurna national park, all accommodation and food on the trek plus a paid guide and porter – everything was taken care of.

Our guide, Da Gelje Sherpa (Dawa) was exceptionally knowledgeable  A seven times Everest summitter he was certainly overqualified for our needs. It was great to have someone with such a wealth of knowledge and experience not only of the mountains but also of plants, geography and the rural ways of life in Nepal.  We were always confident that Dawa would find us the best accommodation and food available in guest houses. He was also very sensitive to our needs for frequent tea stops on the challenging up and downhill sections of the trek. More than this we had lots of stimulating conversations about Nepali culture, way of life, rural traditions and religions.

The scenery was spectacular and we were fortunate to have great weather. Meeting up with larger groups being organised by other trekking companies we were aware that our experience was indeed unique and tailored to meet our specific needs.

It was a great experience, challenging physically but with a lot of laughter and fun too.We definitely plan a return visit to Nepal for another trekking experience and Expedition Himalaya will be our first choice.”

with thanks and good wishes
