The 15-day trek to Everest Base Camp is a moderate trek and can be done even by someone who is a beginner in trekking. Everest Base Camp Trek offers the alluring view of Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), Pumori, (7165m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Mt. Khumbila (5761m), and the other Himalayas while standing on the foot of the mighty Everest. Along with the breath-taking vista of the Himalayas, the trekkers also get to relish the beauty of Khumbu Glacier. Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu (1337m)
Pick up at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Rest/preparation
We spend the day preparing for our exciting trek. Our representatives will take care of all the permits required for this trek. During the free time, you can stroll around Thamel and Basantapur. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Fly Lukla (2800m); trek Phakding (2610m)
Relishing the stunning panoramic view of the Himalayas throughout the flight, we land at the most dangerous airports in the world, Tenzing Hilary Airport, Lukla. Upon arrival in Lukla, we start our trek. We trek along small Himalayan villages and pass several Buddhist monasteries to reach Cheplung village. Cheplung village hosts the mesmerizing view of sacred Mt. Khumbila (5761m). From Cheplung, we trek for a couple of hours to reach Phakding. Overnight in Phakding.
Day 04: Trek Namche Bazaar (3420m)
We start our morning by trekking along free-flowing Dudh Koshi River. We then enter Sagarmatha National Park after registering our permits at the check post. Trekking through lush Himalayan forests of pine, rhododendron, and juniper, we cross a couple of suspension bridges to reach the small village of Chumoa. We then trek for few hours to finally reach Namche Bazaar, which is situated at the heart of Khumbu region with the alluring view of Everest (8848m), Thamserku (6623m), Lhotse (8414m), and the other Himalayas. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 05: Rest/acclimatization
Today, we take a day off from trekking and acclimatize ourselves to high altitude. We will take a tour of this Sherpa town and learn about their culture. We then visit the hotel operated at the highest altitude, Hotel Everest View (3962m), which hosts mouthwatering panorama of Everest along with the other Himalayas. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 06: Trek Tengboche (3870m)
Passing small village of Kyangjuma, we trek along beautiful Dudh Koshi River on our way to Tengboche. We cross a wooden bridge over Dudh Koshi River at Phunke Tenga which leads us on the trail to Tengboche alongside Imja River. After 6 hours of trek, we reach Tengboche where we explore the ancient Tengboche Monastery. Tengboche Monastery, also known as Dawa Choling Gompa, hosts a magnificent view of Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), Thamserku (6623m), and other snow-capped Himalayas. Overnight in Tengboche.
Day 07: Trek Dingboche (4360m)
We start our day by trekking through lush Himalayan forests of pine and rhododendron and eventually cross a suspension bridge over Imja River before we enter Pangboche village. We take a short tour of Pangboche Monastery before trekking along rocky trails to reach the small village of Somare. Leaving Somare, we then trek for a couple of hours, alongside Imja Khola, to reach Dingboche. Dingboche hosts a splendid vista of Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Lhotse (8414m), Island Peak (6189m), Lobuche (6119m), Taboche (6367m), and the other Himalayas. Overnight in Dingboche.
Day 08: Rest/acclimatization
Today, we take a break from the long trek to acclimatize ourselves to the high altitude. We can use this day to either rest or hike up to Nangkartshang Monastery, situated on the base of Nangkar Tshang Peak (5616m). Nangkartshang Monastery hosts an outstanding panorama of Ama Dablam (6856m), Everest (8848m), and Lhotse (8414m). Overnight in Dingboche.
Day 09: Trek Lobuche (4930m)
Leaving Dingboche, we climb rough rocky ridges and trek alongside Khumbu Khola. On our way, we come across few small monasteries and Chortens before we reach the small Sherpa village of Thukla. Thukla hosts a jaw-dropping vista of Pumori (7165m), Nuptse (7861m), Taboche (6367m), Lobuche (6119m), Cholatse (6335m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and the other Himalayas. We then climb steep moraines of Khumbu Glacier to finally reach Lobuche. Overnight in Lobuche.
Day 10: Trek Gorak Shep (5160m); visit Everest Base Camp (5364m)
We trek alongside Khumbu Glacier through rough ridges on our way to Gorakshep. From Gorakshep, we take the steep and slippery moraine route to reach Everest Base Camp, which is the nearest a trekker can get to the summit without mountaineering gears. We take a short tour of the snow-filled base camp. We relish the spectacular view of Mt. Everest (8848m), Khumbutse (6665m), Nuptse (7861m), Pumori (7165m), Lingtren (6749m), and the other Himalayas. After enjoying the view of the Himalayas, we trek downhill to Gorakshep. Overnight in Gorak-Shep.
Day 11: Trek Pheriche (4240m) via Kala Patthar (5545m)
We make an early morning hike to Kala Patthar (5555m) viewpoint, from where, we relish the amazing view of the sun rays reflecting on Everest (8848m), Pumori (7165m), Lhotse (8414m), Nuptse (7861m), and many other gigantic peaks. The view from Kala Patthar is simply breathtaking. After relishing the superb vista of the Himalayas, we trek downhill to Pheriche. Overnight in Pheriche.
Day 12: Trek Namche Bazaar
Trekking downhill, we cross a couple of wooden bridges and enter small village of Pangboche in the Imja River Valley. We then trek along Imja River and reach Phortse Thanga, where we take a short tour of Phortse Gompa. After exploring the monastery, we trek further downhill through dense pine and juniper forests and cross another wooden bridge over Dudh Koshi River to reach Sanasa. We continue our trek and pass many small villages of on our way to Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 13: Trek Lukla
Today is the final day of our trek. Trekking along beautiful Dudh Koshi River, we cross a suspension bridge and enter Jorsalle. We then trek past several monasteries and Mani walls for a couple of hours to reach Phakding. From Phakding, we trek for another couple of hours through small villages crossing small streams to reach Lukla. Overnight in Lukla.
Day 14: Fly Kathmandu
Today, we fly back to the capital via a late morning flight. We relish the scenic beauty of the Himalayas throughout the flight. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. You can either rest or go for souvenir shopping in the nearby market. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 15: Depart Kathmandu
We bid you farewell and drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport to connect you with your flight.
