Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
When it comes to trekking in Nepal, Ghorepani Poon Hill is one of the best and unmissable short trekking destinations located on the western side of Nepal in Annapurna Region. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek offers the panoramic view of the mountains along with an opportunity to learn the culture and lifestyle of Gurung and Magar people. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is an easy trek ideal for people who find joy in the lap of nature but cannot walk on rough trails for days.
The 10 days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a perfect gateway far from hustle and bustle of city life into the foothills of the Himalayas. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek offers trekkers a mesmerizing view of Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m), Baraha Shikhar (7847m), Mount Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna III (7855m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna II (7937m), and Lamjung Himal (6931m). Apart from the stunning view of mountains, the trek also provides trekkers an opportunity to experience and learn the unique culture and tradition of Gurung and Magar people in that area. The main attraction of the trek includes the most beautiful view of sunrise above the high Himalayas seen from Poon Hill. Poon hill also hosts an awe-inspiring vista of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Most routes of the trek pass through densely forested paths filled with rhododendron, oak, and pine trees. The route also takes through stone paved staircases walking on which may be a little tiring. Trekkers also stumble across many small waterfalls, streams, and terrace farms while moving towards their destinations.

15th Apr, 2019My wife and I visited Nepal in April 2019, using Expedition Himalaya to organise our Three Passes trek in the Everest region. Correspondence was punctual and informative leading up to our trip, and all went smoothly upon arrival i.e. transfer to our hotel, where we were met in person and warmly welcomed by the managing director Nabin and Kritee. Expedition Himalaya arranged our flights to / from Lukla. A special mention should be made to the guide assigned to us, Gombu, who was always in a jovial mood, unrelentingly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the mountains and the local people, shared stories of his own mountaineering exploits with us and genuinely couldn't do enough for us - he was an absolute star, and a great man. Ultimately the itinerary was exactly as promised (with enough flexibility for us to fit in some side trips on acclimatisation days), and we cannot fault the organisation and professionalism of Expedition Himalaya, which is run very well; they have my recommendation for anyone requiring a guide / assistance with their visit to Nepal, which is an unbelievably beautiful country with lovely people.
